New York City is packed with restaurants and bars different from any city in the world. Themes, menus, staff, and unique trademarks can easily be found in any neighborhood.

Unique Restaurants in New York

Walk down East 6th St for an endless slew of Indian Restaurants (Panna II is a great option!).

St. Mark’s is nicknamed Little Tokyo for its slew of Japanese eateries (Ippudo is famous for its ramen), West 12th and 13th Streets mark Little Britain with wafting scents of fish and chips.

Anything off Canal Street has authentic Chinese food (Great NY Noodle Town and Big Wong are great options), or head down Mulberry Street for the best flavors of Little Italy. West 46th Street offers endless caipirinhas as part of Little Brazil.

PKNY is a tiki-themed basement on the Lower East Side, serving their famous “Zombie” drinks, full of fruit and booze and limited to one per person, due to their strength.

67 Orange Street in Harlem is a cozy lounge, featuring creative mixology like Earl Grey infused vodka and small plates of food.

Beer is also an important component of the NYC drinking experience. Houston Hall in Soho is an enormous beer hall serving pints and double pints to rowdy hipsters every day of the week; gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches and dumplings are also available.

Brooklyn Brewery offers tours and beer drinking events and Singlecut Beersmiths in Astoria are other fine local brewers.

The Standard Biergarten offers a fantastic outside experience right off of the Highline and Radegast Hall and Biergarten has enormous covered space for all your pint, pretzel, and bratwurst needs throughout the year.

In Williamsburg, stop by Bushwick Country Club. Very much not a Country Club nor located in Bushwick, this bar was started on a dare by the owners, who now serve endless cheese puffs aside drinks like sweet tea vodka slushies and pickleback shots. Visit during nice weather to play mini golf in the backyard course, full of homemade PBR obstacles.

If you’re a dog lover, Lucky Dog on South 3rd St is a dog-friendly dive packed with Chihuahuas and Labradors enjoying the cheap brews.

In Greenpoint, No Name Bar (597 Manhattan Ave) is a nondescript, dark lounge that offers a little something special in its basement: a fresh noodle bar! Order hot or cold handmade spicy noodles alongside your cocktail order and chill out in the backyard.

Overall, New York is full of ethnic, local, and quality restaurants just begging to be tasted!

Montmartre, 158 Eighth Avenue, nr. 18th. St. – Fantastic meals breakfast through to dinner this restaurants menu is to drool over! Fancy a burger – aged dry beef, with a bearnaise cheese and spinach served on toasted pain au levain served with pomme frites.

What about Duck Confit or French Onion Gratinee, whatever you choose you wont be disappointed! Best to make a reservation.

Rose Bakery, 160 Lexington Ave., at 30th St.
I was in cake heaven when I visited Rose Bakery! It is on the ground floor of Dover Market and has about a row of four tables behind the pastries. Watch as they cook and work their magic on the food. They have great breakfasts and lunches as well.
